These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Govantage platform, including our website at govantage.uk, mobile applications, and all related van rental services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
"Company", "We", "Us" refers to Govantage Ltd, registered in England and Wales.
"Driver", "You" refers to any individual who registers and uses the platform to rent vehicles.
"Fleet Manager" refers to users with fleet oversight responsibilities.
"Investor" refers to users participating in the asset-backed lending programme.
"Platform" refers to the web application, admin dashboard, and mobile application.
To use the Service, you must: (a) be at least 21 years of age; (b) hold a valid, full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years); (c) have no unspent driving convictions that would materially affect insurance eligibility; (d) pass our identity verification and DVLA licence checks; and (e) provide accurate, complete registration information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. We log all active sessions including device type, IP address, and login timestamps for your security. You may review and terminate active sessions at any time through the Security & Sessions section of your dashboard. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where we detect suspicious activity, including unusual login patterns or access from multiple geographic locations simultaneously.
All van rentals are governed by individual Rental Agreements generated when a booking is confirmed. These Terms supplement but do not replace those agreements. The Rental Agreement sets out the specific terms for your vehicle including weekly rental rate, deposit requirements, insurance coverage, and permitted use.
Rental fees are charged weekly via Direct Debit (GoCardless) or standing order. You authorise recurring payments for the duration of your rental. Late or failed payments may result in: (a) late payment charges as specified in your Rental Agreement; (b) suspension of your account; (c) recovery of the vehicle; or (d) reporting to credit reference agencies. All payment transactions are processed securely and records are retained for 7 years as required by HMRC regulations.
As a Driver, you must: (a) maintain the vehicle in good condition and roadworthy state; (b) complete weekly safety checks as required by the platform; (c) report any damage, accidents, or mechanical issues within 24 hours; (d) not sub-let, loan, or allow unauthorised persons to drive the vehicle; (e) use the vehicle only for lawful purposes within the United Kingdom; (f) keep the vehicle insured under the Company's fleet policy at all times; and (g) return the vehicle in the same condition as received, subject to fair wear and tear.
A security deposit is required before vehicle collection. The deposit amount is specified in your Rental Agreement. Deductions may be made for damage beyond fair wear and tear, missing accessories, excessive cleaning, or unpaid charges. Deposit refund timescales are set out in your Rental Agreement.
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described therein. We take your privacy seriously and implement industry-leading security measures to protect your information.
Our use of cookies and tracking technologies is governed by our Cookie Policy. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through the consent banner or your dashboard settings. We record all consent decisions with timestamps for GDPR compliance.
For your security, we log all login sessions including: device type and browser, IP address, approximate location, login and logout timestamps, and session duration. This data is used to: detect unauthorised access, enable you to manage active sessions, provide session history for your review, and investigate security incidents. You may terminate any active session from your Security & Sessions dashboard at any time.
All content, trademarks, logos, and software on the Platform are the property of Govantage Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without prior written consent.
Either party may terminate a rental agreement with 7 days written notice. Govantage reserves the right to terminate immediately if the Driver: (a) breaches any material term of these Terms or the Rental Agreement; (b) fails to make payments; (c) provides false or misleading information; (d) uses the vehicle unlawfully; or (e) poses a safety risk. Upon termination, the vehicle must be returned within 48 hours.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) rectify inaccuracies; (c) request erasure (right to be forgotten); (d) restrict processing; (e) data portability; and (f) object to processing. You can exercise these rights through the Data & Privacy section of your dashboard. Account deletion requests are processed automatically and result in immediate account deactivation with personal data anonymisation. Financial records are retained for 7 years as required by HMRC.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Govantage's total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the aggregate rental fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through our internal complaints procedure. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to the UK Courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email and/or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
