App terms of use

The rules for using the GoVantage app, in plain English.

Last updated 7 October 2026.

1. About these terms

These terms cover your use of the GoVantage app, provided by GoVantage Ltd (company number 14382911), Unit 4, Trentham Lakes South, Stanley Matthews Way, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 8GA. Your hire itself is governed by our terms of hire and the rental agreement you sign; if these terms and your rental agreement differ, the rental agreement applies. By using the app you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

  • Use your own account and keep your sign-in details to yourself.
  • If you think someone else has used it, sign the other devices out in Account and tell us at contact@govantage.uk.
  • Team accounts are given by GoVantage for work only.

3. Using the app properly

  • Photos, readings and checks must be genuine: taken at the time, of the van they are recorded for, and not edited.
  • Never use the app while driving. Stop somewhere safe first.
  • Do not try to reach parts of the app or our systems you are not meant to, copy or take apart the app, or use it to break the law.

4. Records made in the app

Checks, photos, damage marks, mileage and fuel readings and signatures made in the app become part of the hire record. As your rental agreement explains, they show a van's condition at hand-over and return, including for deposit deductions and damage charges. Each hand-over record is sealed once finished; if you think one is wrong, tell us within the time your agreement allows.

5. Working offline

Without a signal the app keeps your work on the phone and sends it when the connection returns. A check counts as received once the app shows it as sent, so keep the app installed and signed in until everything has gone.

6. Updates

We improve the app regularly. When an update is needed for the app to keep working safely or to keep records right, the app asks you to install it before you carry on. Keep your phone's operating system up to date as well.

7. The app and the app stores

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on phones and tablets you own or control, for your hire or your work with GoVantage. The app, its design and its content belong to GoVantage Ltd or its licensors. These terms are between you and GoVantage Ltd, not Apple or Google: we alone are responsible for the app and its content, for maintaining and supporting it, and for any claim about it, including a claim that it breaks the law or someone else's intellectual property rights. Apple and Google have no obligation to maintain or support the app. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You must also follow the store's own terms.

8. Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available and accurate but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will help, including by recording a check another way. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your legal rights as a consumer. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen.

9. Stopping

You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your account in Account → Privacy & legal or at govantage.uk/delete-account. We may suspend access to the app if it is misused or your account is closed.

10. Privacy

How the app uses personal data is set out in the app privacy notice.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: contact@govantage.uk.
